Summary

Bahire, a new coffee discovery! For years there has been one coffee from Ngozi Province that consistently scored higher than all the other fine coffees from that region. Our buyers kinship for Ngozi, afterall her mother was born and raised there, she set out to find that coffee. It took some work, but she finally found the hill where this special coffee was growing and she was in awe of the differentiation that terroir can make in coffee. Bahire means "be well" in Kirundi.

It's elegance will impress seasoned drinkers, but approachable enough to open someone's eyes to just how good coffee can be.

Origin: Burundi, specifically the Ngozi region
Processing: Natural
Altitude: 1800 MASL.
Variety: Bourbon.

Very Smooth w/a touch of lemon

4/2021 roast. Unlike its sl. bitter "wildberry" nearby Kenyan cousins, this is a beautifully smooth brew, with muted lemon overlay.

Consider me the ultimate coffee snob. I'm VERY fond of many Moore offerings, but this Burundi is to die for! Impossibly smooth and rich, and perfectly roasted; there are no surprises -- except a pleasing aroma and a taste that is not "heavy." Rather, I'd term it "extremely satisfying." I'd give it six stars, if there were room.

I love the fact that purchasing this coffee supports an organization that empowers women and benefits food security in coffee-producing countries, but unfortunately I'm not a fan of it's flavor profile, which to me tastes burnt and bitter. Too bad!
