Summary

Peaberries produce a somewhat different (often better) cup than normal beans from the same crop, from which they may or may not be separated during grading. The high mountain valleys of central Papua New Guinea offer some of the world's most favorable terroirs for production of fine coffee. When these coffees, grown by local villagers, are carefully prepared by the traditional wet or washed method, as is the case with this coffee, they can compete with the world's finest

Variety: Mundo Novo, Blue Mountain, Typica, Arusha, Caturra, Catimor

Region: Western Highlands, Waghi Valley

Harvest: March - April

Altitude: 1,580 meters

Soil: Sandy loam

Process: Fully washed after depulping and fermenting, dried in the sun

Smooth and complex

Another very well made coffee with one hangup for me. Although very smooth, the complexity includes a drying (leathery?) light bitterness that also carries into the aftertaste. If you like your coffee complex, and don't mind this other aspect, this is definitely a winner.
